Dave Vorbeck is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and he serves as the President & C.E.O. of Bison Financial Group, located in Lafayette, Indiana.
Wanting to remain in Indiana and eager to improve upon old models of financial advising, Dave turned his years of experience and goodwill in the financial field into the founding of an innovative new company, Bison Financial Group (BFG). The core principle of Bison Financial Group was, and remains, to provide a highly customized, analytical investing approach which helps clients define, understand, and achieve their goals. To accomplish this, BFG employs an experienced, responsive, proactive team, which is dedicated to every client's success.
Soon after founding Bison Financial Group, Dave launched the BFG Vibrant Community Program, which through providing sponsorship and funding, pursues its mission to "support organizations that promote the arts, educate the community, or provide aid to those in need." He also created an employee incentive program at BFG where all employees are encouraged to volunteer in the local community and are eligible to earn up to two additional weeks of paid vacation (in addition to their normal vacation time) for their hours spent helping various social service agencies and non-profit organizations in the Greater Lafayette area. Contributing to the building of a healthy community is a cornerstone of Dave's professional and personal lives and he served on several local boards, including FoodFinders Foodbank, Family Services, The Bach Chorale, Tecumseh Area Partnership, The Wabash Valley Trust for Historical Preservation, and The Long Center for the Performing Arts.
Dave has been married for nearly 30 years to his wife Tammy, who holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum Studies, serves as an adjunct professor at Purdue University, and is the author of several books. They have an adult daughter and a pack of rescue pets, both cats and dogs. He is an experienced pilot, having flown a variety of aircraft since the age of 14. He is a 3,000-hour commercial pilot with Certified Flight Instructor ratings in single-engine, multi-engine, and instrument airplanes. His personal interests include flying, sailing on Lake Michigan, history/government, and traveling.
